Upstone Materials Inc. – Westport, NY
On May 3rd, Upstone Materials proudly sponsored and participated in a stream restoration project along the banks of the Boquet River in Westport, NY — a collaborative effort focused on conservation, erosion control, and wildlife habitat improvement.
The event brought together local organizations and conservation groups with a shared goal: to restore natural stability and biodiversity along the Beaver Brook tributary of the Boquet River. Upstone employees were not only sponsors — they were hands-on contributors, rolling up their sleeves to take part in this meaningful environmental initiative.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Upstone Materials, the Essex County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Boquet River Association, the Ruffed Grouse Society, and the American Woodcock Society, a total of 650 native trees were planted throughout the restoration site.
These trees will play a critical role in:
- Stabilizing riverbanks and reducing erosion
- Improving water quality in the Boquet River watershed
- Enhancing natural habitats for local wildlife species

This project is a prime example of how public-private partnerships and community involvement can lead to lasting environmental impact. Upstone Materials is proud to support conservation efforts that align with our values of sustainability and responsible stewardship of the land.
